45 Second Timer

This timer draws 45 seconds as 20 concentric rings; one empties every 2.3 seconds, so a glance shows how far along you are without reading a digit. It chimes at zero, keeps counting in a background tab, runs fullscreen, and exports as a free MP4 video. Handy for a HIIT work interval, an elevator pitch run-through, or blanching spinach.

Forty-five seconds

Three quarters of a minute is an in-between length, and that is the point of it. It is longer than the half minute that most rests default to and shorter than the full minute that starts to feel like a break. The dial drops a ring every two and a quarter seconds, a slow enough rhythm to glance at mid-exercise and still know how much is left.

The work half of 45/15

Forty-five seconds of work and fifteen of rest is one of the most common circuit splits, because forty-five is long enough to get a real set done at a controlled pace. Squats, push-ups, kettlebell swings, and rowing all fit. The interval timer page runs eight rounds of exactly that with a chime at each change, so use it when you are running the whole circuit. This plain dial is for a single forty-five second effort, or for a rest of that length between heavier sets.

An elevator pitch, run three times

Speakers rehearsing an opening tend to time it once and stop. Run it three times against the dial instead: the first pass finds the places you stumble, the second cuts them, and the third proves the timing holds. Forty-five seconds is enough for a name, a problem, and a single reason to keep listening.

Blanching greens

Spinach, kale ribbons, and pea shoots go from raw to bright green and tender in about forty-five seconds in boiling water. Longer and they turn dull; shorter and the stems stay tough. Have the ice water ready before you start the dial, because the chime is the moment to lift them out.

Splitting it

Forty-five seconds is three fifteens, which is handy for a stretch that has three positions, or for holds where you switch sides at each third. If that is how you work, the 15 second dial restarted three times may suit you better. For the neighbours, see the 30 second and 60 second dials, or the full list on the timers page.

How long is each ring?

2.3 seconds. The dial always has 20 rings, and this timer runs 45 seconds.

Is there a shorter or longer version?

Yes. The nearest pages are the 30 second timer and the 60 second timer, and the custom field on any dial takes an exact length.
