90 Second Timer

This timer draws 90 seconds as 20 concentric rings; one empties every 4.5 seconds, so a glance shows how far along you are without reading a digit. It chimes at zero, keeps counting in a background tab, runs fullscreen, and exports as a free MP4 video. Handy for a microwave rice pouch, rest between heavy lifting sets, or a debate rebuttal.

Ninety seconds

A minute and a half is the length that turns up on packaging. Microwave rice pouches, steamed vegetable bags, and reheat instructions on ready meals all seem to settle on ninety seconds, and it is also a common rest between heavy sets. The dial drops a ring every four and a half seconds, so it moves noticeably while you watch and still reads clearly from across a kitchen.

Rest between heavy sets

Thirty seconds is a conditioning rest; ninety seconds is a strength rest. It is roughly the gap where you can add weight to the bar, chalk up, and be ready for a set of five without either rushing or cooling down. Start the dial as you rack the bar and lift again at the chime. If you are working near a max, stretch the rest to two minutes or more.

The microwave pouch

Rice pouches and grain mixes cook in ninety seconds from a pierced packet, and the timing matters more than it looks: shorter leaves the centre cold, longer dries the edges. Start the dial as you press start on the microwave, since the microwave's own beep is often quieter than this chime.

Debate rebuttals and quick answers

Ninety seconds is a common rebuttal length in school and university debating, and the same span turns up in interview formats where each candidate gets a short answer. Rehearsing to it is the only way to learn how much you can say. The rings run silently, so you can practise out loud without a clock ticking under you.

Splitting ninety

Ninety is three thirties or two forty-fives. A stretch with three positions changes at every seventh ring; a two-sided hold switches at ring ten. If you find yourself always splitting it, the 30 second dial or the 45 second dial restarted may be simpler.

Neighbours

Shorter is the 60 second dial; longer is two minutes. The rest of the range lives on the timers page.

How long is each ring?

4.5 seconds. The dial always has 20 rings, and this timer runs 90 seconds.

Is there a shorter or longer version?

Yes. The nearest pages are the 1 minute timer and the 2 minute timer, and the custom field on any dial takes an exact length.
